Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited seeks an experienced platform engineer to build, operate, and improve a Kubernetes-based platform that underpins critical workloads across AWS and on‑prem clouds. You will partner with engineering teams to automate deployments, enhance observability and security, and deliver scalable services for developers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating and supporting production Kubernetes environments, preferably Amazon EKS
• Strong AWS experience, including IAM, networking, load balancing, and cloud infrastructure services
• Hands-on experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux, along with Helm and Kustomize
• Experience with observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management in distributed systems
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash and infrastructure-as-code or configuration management approaches
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, or policy-as-code technologies is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and continuously improve a Kubernetes-based platform that underpins critical engineering workloads, across AWS, Kubernetes, GitOps, observability, security and automation
• Manage and enhance core platform services, support application onboarding, and drive improvements to deployment and operational workflows
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and automate repetitive operational tasks
• Contribute to platform innovation, developer enablement, and adoption of best practices that improve system resilience and operational efficiency.
