Job summary

You will design robust backend systems with Spring, develop React/Redux front-ends, ensure security with JWT/OAuth, and contribute to performance, testing, and continuous improvement in a hybrid Cebu City office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Full Stack experience with Java as core language.
• Strong Spring Framework (Boot, MVC, Security) experience.
• Experience building RESTful services and front-end with React/Redux.
• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.

Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java) — Cebu, Philippines

8x8 is looking for a talented Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep, recent Java expertise to join our growing team in Cebu. You'll play a pivotal role in building a new SaaS product from the ground up, collaborating with colleagues across Singapore, Europe, and North America in a fast-moving, agile environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build robust, scalable Java-based backend systems using Spring Framework, with clean RESTful APIs as the backbone of our platform.
• Apply strong knowledge of Java concurrency, multithreading, and asynchronous APIs to deliver high-performance, reliable services.
• Implement security best practices including JWT, OAuth, and web security standards.
• Develop modern, responsive front-end interfaces using React and Redux based on designs and wireframes.
• Optimize components for performance across diverse devices and browsers.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold code quality standards across the team.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies — standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Take ownership of continuous improvement and drive innovation in how we build.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of Full Stack experience, with Java as your primary and most recent language — you should be writing Java day-to-day right now, or very recently.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
• Solid understanding of Java concurrency, multithreading, and async patterns — this is non-negotiable.
• Proven experience building and consuming Java-based RESTful web services.
• Significant front-end experience with ReactJS and Redux; AngularJS or VueJS experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS.
• Familiarity with JWT, OAuth, and web security practices.
• Experience with test automation at the unit and integration level.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitHub Actions), and SaaS development.
• Track record of designing and delivering large-scale, production-grade applications.
• Strong analytical mindset and genuine passion for high-quality software.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid — onsite Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Cebu City).
