Job summary

Globe Telecom in the Philippines is seeking a JAVA Senior/Lead Software Development Engineer to shape the technical future of our platform, balancing hands-on coding with high‑level architectural decisions and mentorship.

You will lead design of cloud-based, distributed applications, drive CI/CD and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and coach junior engineers in a hybrid on-site/work-from-home setup at Globe.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering delivering large-scale systems.
Expert in Java with ability to select the right tool for architecture; Python a plus.
Deep cloud experience with AWS or Google Cloud and cost-performance trade-offs.
Strong system design for microservices and distributed systems.
Ownership mindset with observability and infrastructure as code (Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform).

Responsibilities

Architect & Scale: lead design and evolution of high-performance distributed apps.
Technical Leadership: translate business requirements into scalable roadmaps.
Engineering Excellence: enforce code quality, security, and performance.
