Job summary

JWay Group is seeking a seasoned Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications. You will focus on performance, reliability, and code quality while tackling bottlenecks and bugs. Collaboration across the team will drive new feature delivery and robust software solutions.

The role requires 4–8 years of hands-on Java experience, deep knowledge of Java/JEE internals, and strong SQL/ORM proficiency. Hybrid work setup with weekly on-site at BGC, Taguig.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-8 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
• Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Mastery in software engineering tools.
• Ability to document requirements and specifications.
• Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
• Collaborate with the team to define, design, and ship new features.
• Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
• Manage Java and Java EE application development.
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.
