Job summary

KMC Solutions is seeking a Java Backend Developer to join our Taguig team. You will design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java 11+ and Spring Boot, focusing on security, performance, and reliability.

You will work with architects, product owners, and fellow developers to deliver scalable enterprise applications. Bring 5+ years of Java experience, strong API design skills, Docker and Kubernetes familiarity, and proficiency with PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience with API design, RESTful services, and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Build scalable, secure, and high-availability solutions for enterprise applications
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and developers to define and implement technical solutions
• Integrate third-party systems and internal services using modern API standards
• Optimize application performance and implement robust error handling and logging
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following development best practices, including TDD/BDD
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering excellence
• Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge with the team
• Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection requirements

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Strong proficiency in Java 11+ and Spring Boot
• Familiarity with Spring Cloud
• Proven experience in API design, RESTful services, and microservices architecture
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript
• Experience working with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
