Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of internal global technology initiatives. You will mitigate delivery risk and ensure solutions are fit for purpose, future-proof, and supported.

You may lead a single project or multiple work streams, coordinating dispersed teams and collaborating with Business Stakeholders, IT Directors, Product Leads, and Procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in IT, Business or related field.
• PM qualifications: Prince2, PMBOK, Agile.
• 8+ years as an IT Project Manager.
• Advanced PM methodologies tailored per project.
• Strong experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication.
• Commercial acumen – manage vendors/partners.
• Lead dispersed technology teams to deliver value.
• Plan, budget and assess risks with strong governance.
• Mentor project teams and uplift delivery quality.
• Ability to broker consensus across stakeholders.
• Create effective teams that foster innovation.

What will you do?

The core purpose of the Senior IT Project Manager role is to manage the end-to-end delivery of internal global technology projects within Aurecon. The role is responsible for mitigating delivery risk to the organization through ensuring that the solutions we implement meet expected business outcomes, are fit for purpose, future-proofed and are ready to be supported.

This role may deliver one single project or be responsible for managing multiple projects and product(s) changes concurrently.

We know the work we do is vital in assisting Aurecon's business globally. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

• With 8+ years Project Management experience
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
• Agile experience, along with experience with typical PRINCE2 governance
• Experience with managing business enterprise applications e.g. Workday or equivalent, and any AI exposure is highly advantageous.
• Experience working with Commercial & Procurement teams
• Delivering projects and product squad delivery according to a structured framework/methodology
• Applying project governance and controls across each initiative – ensuring that project stage gates are adhered to and signoffs received for core deliverables
• Planning and coordinating global project resources and managing these individuals as a virtual team
• Managing project inter-dependencies and clearly escalating where there are issues/roadblocks preventing successful delivery
• Ability to manage Risks and prevent them from becoming issues
• Report progress and issues to stakeholders, including Steering Committee.
• Delivering projects to scope, quality, schedule and budget.

Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Business or related field
• Project Management Qualifications (Prince 2, PMBOK, Agile)
• 8+ years as an IT Project Manager
• Advanced Project Management Methodologies: In-depth knowledge and ability to tailor them to project specifics.
• Strong experience and exposure to Agile/Scrum framework
• Very strong Stakeholder Management able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure clear communication, manage expectations, and build strong working relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen – experienced in negotiating and driving project outcomes through preferred suppliers/partners
• Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing skills.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, strong fiscal experience across budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments
• Mentoring & coaching project team, product squad team members – experience uplifting capability and quality of delivery/championing project management disciplines
• Ability to lead dispersed and diverse technology teams to deliver continuous value for customers.
• Disciplined approach to planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring activities against plan and financial reconciliation
• Proven ability to consult and facilitate discussions regarding alternative approaches and to broker consensus across stakeholder teams.
• Able to create effective team environments for people to innovate and learn.
