Job summary

Mogi I/O is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead and manage site-wide Health, Safety, and Emergency Management systems in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with PNG regulations and industry best practices while promoting a robust safety culture across all operations.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience in mining safety, with a minimum of 10 years, ideally including underground operations. Candidates should also possess a relevant degree and detailed knowledge of mining regulations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' mining safety experience, including underground operations.
• Strong knowledge of PNG mining and safety regulations.
• Experience in remote, high-risk mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive a proactive, zero-harm safety culture.
• Maintain and improve the HSE Management System (HSEMS).
• Lead risk assessments, hazard management, and critical control verification.
• Oversee safety across underground mining, processing, logistics, maintenance, and construction activities.
• Manage incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure emergency preparedness and response readiness.
• Lead safety training and contractor compliance programs.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and safety performance reporting.
