NEWBIG FOUR J CONSTRUCTION INC. in Antipolo City is seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, service, and repair a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment.

The role focuses on reducing downtime, extending equipment life, and supporting project delivery within schedule and budget. You will lead diagnostics, perform routine maintenance, and mentor junior mechanics while upholding strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of practical experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in construction/mining.
• Experience servicing and repairing major construction machinery and equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical issues.
• Proficiency with mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and CMMS.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and transmissions.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to operate machinery.
• Certification in heavy equipment repair (preferred).
• Commitment to safety and adherence to standards.
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
• Flexible hours including early starts and some weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and diagnostic inspections on excavators, bulldozers, cranes, loaders, and related equipment.
• Carry out routine servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Identify defects through testing and troubleshooting; repair or replace components.
• Maintain maintenance records and logs; prioritise repairs based on urgency.
• Mentor juniors, train apprentices, and share best practices.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer specs.
• Coordinate with site supervisors on status and schedules.
• Manage spare parts inventory for critical components.

About the role

NEWBIG FOUR J CONSTRUCTION INC. is seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic construction operations team. This is a full-time position based in Antipolo City, Rizal. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency and safety standards. As a senior mechanic, you will play a crucial part in minimising downtime, maximising equipment longevity, and supporting the company's commitment to delivering high-quality construction projects on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maintenance and diagnostic inspections on heavy construction equipment including excavators, bulldozers, cranes, loaders, and other machinery

• Conduct routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and lubrication of equipment components

• Identify mechanical defects and malfunctions through systematic testing and troubleshooting procedures

• Repair or replace damaged or worn equipment parts, including engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components

• Maintain detailed maintenance records and equipment logs to track service history and identify recurring issues

• Prioritise equipment repairs based on operational urgency and project requirements to minimise site downtime

• Mentor and supervise junior mechanics and apprentices, providing technical guidance and training on best practices

• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company standards

• Liaise with site supervisors and project managers to communicate equipment status and anticipated maintenance schedules

• Source and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components for emergency repairs

What we're looking for

• Minimum 4-10 years of practical experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in the construction or mining industry

• Proven expertise in servicing and repairing major construction machinery and equipment

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify complex mechanical problems

• Proficiency in using mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and computerised maintenance systems

• Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and transmission mechanics

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to operate machinery when necessary

• Certification in heavy equipment repair or diesel mechanics from a recognised training institution (preferred)

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in all maintenance procedures

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

• Commitment to safety protocols and a proven track record of maintaining high safety standards

• Ability to work flexible hours, including early starts and occasional weekend shifts as required by project schedules
