Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a senior Guidewire/Java professional to lead development efforts in a fast‑paced environment. You will work with a distributed team, mentor colleagues, and coordinate with QA, BA and customers to deliver robust insurance solutions.

The role requires 6+ years in Guidewire and Core Java, plus REST APIs and AWS experience. A strong P&C insurance background is essential for success at Cognizant.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Guidewire, Core Java, REST API technologies and AWS technologies.
• At least 3+ years of Guidewire experience.
• Good P&C insurance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the POD team consisting of Guidewire development.
• Collaborate with testers and BAs to track Jira cards for timely closure.
• Provide technical guidance to BAs and Testers during elaboration.
• Review team deliverables and present changes in CAB meetings to tech leads and architects.
• Engage with customers to gather and present technical requirements.
• Support multiple teams technically.

Position Summary:

• Must have hands on experience in Guidewire ClaimCenter, Java, NodeJS, GraphQL, Webservices, AWS tech stacks
• Must have experience in writing Gunits/Junits and increasing the code coverage
• Must have experience in practicing Business Driven Development technique
• Analyze the requirements for implementing them using Guidewire either by using Out-of-the-Box solutions in Guidewire platform or providing custom solutions
• Participates in business workshops and provides solutions on technical changes
• Estimates the work effort and review the effort from other developers in the team
• Work with Customer side Technical Lead and Architect for technical guidance
• Prepare the technical documentation for code and design changes, completing Guidewire integration changes. Share technical inputs on the dependencies with other integration work streams
• Completes design, develops code, unit tests code, documents and deploys code into the appropriate environment
• Establish best practices, and guidelines for development. Ensure team adheres to the best practices
• Mentor and help other technical developers in the team
• Co-ordinate and perform integration testing with QA and other dependent teams
• Participate and provide technical inputs/guidance in defect triage meetings
• Help BA’s and Testers with the technical demo sessions presented to business
• Create knowledge base documents and hand over the changes to production support team.

Mandatory Skills:

• Candidate should have 6+ years’ experience in Guidewire, Core Java, REST API technologies, AWS Technologies
• Candidate should have at least 3+ years of experience in Guidewire
• Candidate should have good P&C insurance experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the POD team which consists of Guidewire development
• Work along with testers and BA’s and ensure the Jira cards are track for closure on time
• Support BA and Tester for Elaboration provide technical assistance
• Review the teams deliverables
• Present the changes in the CAB meetings, Tech leads, Architectures
• Participate in customers discussion for gather and present the technical requirements.
• Support more than one team technically

Qualifications & Certifications (Optional):

• Minimum Bachelors or Masters degree
• Guidewire Cloud Certificated (Optional)

Salary Range:>$100,000
