Senior Golang Backend Engineer – EV Charging Platform
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Golang Backend Engineer to develop, enhance, and support a cloud-native EV Charging platform. The role focuses on building scalable backend services, distributed systems, and event-driven workflows while ensuring high availability and production stability.
You will work closely with technical leads, product, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable backend solutions and integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices using Golang.
- Build scalable event-driven and asynchronous workflows for distributed systems.
- Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performing root cause analysis where required.
- Work with PostgreSQL, including SQL queries, indexing, and performance optimisation.
- Develop and maintain integrations with external platforms and third‑party systems.
- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams on cloud deployments, monitoring, and operational readiness.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
- Take ownership of assigned features and technical deliverables from development through production.
Must‑Have Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience developing production applications using Golang (Go).
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Good understanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience with event‑streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and supporting production systems.
- Experience with cloud‑native environments using AWS or Azure.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with distributed, real‑time, or high‑traffic systems.
Good to Have
- Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Java.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog or Sentry.
- Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools.
- Experience within EV charging, mobility, IoT, or device‑integrated platforms.
- Knowledge of EV charging protocols such as OCPI and OCPP.
- Experience developing real‑time and device‑integrated systems.
