Job summary

Umpisa Inc. in Metro Manila seeks a senior full-stack engineer to design, build and maintain end-to-end features using React on the frontend and NestJS on the backend.

You will own features from technical design through deployment, mentor teammates, and contribute to CI/CD and best practices. The role requires hands-on TypeScript expertise, API design experience, and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced, hybrid work setup with on-site training in Singapore and Manila as part of project

Qualifications

• - 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• - Strong hands-on experience with React (hooks, state management, component architecture).
• - Strong hands-on experience with NestJS or a similar Node.js framework (Express, Fastify).
• - Deep proficiency in TypeScript, with a solid grasp of type-safe design across frontend and backend.
• - Experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• - Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• - Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar).
• - Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• - Experience with microservices architecture and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.).
• - Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal project portfolio.
• - Prior experience mentoring or leading engineers.
• - Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• - Willingness to travel to Singapore for training in October and continue training in Manila from November to December.
