Job summary

The Japan Research Institute, Limited, Philippine Branch is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Developer to design and implement scalable, high-performance applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust software solutions.

The role emphasizes backend development with Node.js Express, data modeling using PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, and building microservices with a strong focus on automated testing via Jest and Playwright, plus CI/CD and Git workflows.

Qualifications

• Preferably a degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Full Stack Development experience.
• Experience with Node.js Express Backend development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines; automated testing with Playwright and Jest.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and Waterfall development.
• Experience in financial business systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js Express.
• Design, optimize and maintain data models with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Implement microservices-based architecture for scalability and modularity.
• Write automated tests using Jest and Playwright to ensure software quality.
• Utilize Git for version control and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Promote coding best practices, testing and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with product managers and analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
