Job summary

RSS is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer with a strong Firebase and backend focus to lead the platform’s core logic, data architecture, and third‑party integrations. You’ll ensure robust, secure backend performance while frontend work is shared with a dedicated Flutter developer.

You will collaborate with the product engineering team to deliver clean, maintainable code and support migration to the new platform, with remote setup and Philippine daytime hours aligned to WA operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience with Firebase experience (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Auth)
• Strong TypeScript experience for serverless backends
• Deep knowledge of Firestore data modelling, security rules, and optimization
• Working knowledge of Flutter and Dart for UI collaboration
• CI/CD workflows experience with GitHub Actions and Firebase Hosting
• Experience replacing legacy PostgreSQL workflows with Firestore equivalents
• Excellent English communication in a distributed, remote-friendly team
• Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to architecture decisions

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development with Firebase tools (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Auth)
• Design scalable, secure Firestore data models and access rules
• Build and maintain Cloud Functions for backend logic and third-party integrations
• Collaborate with frontend developers to define clean interfaces
• Contribute to Flutter app development, including offline caching and backend integration
• Replace legacy workflows with Firestore equivalents
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and local tooling via Firebase Emulator Suite
• Guide architectural decisions for scalability and offline support
• Mentor onboarding frontend/backend team members
