Job summary

Manulife Philippines is seeking a Financial Control Senior Analyst to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, leading complex activities such as period-end closing, compensation accounting, and cost management.

The role requires IFRS/US GAAP expertise, ERP proficiency (SAP, Oracle), and strong analytical and stakeholder-management skills to support compliance and strategic initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA required; CMA/CFA preferred.
• 4–6 years in financial control, accounting operations, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Record-to-Report: Lead implementation of new accounting standards; assess complex transactions; validate financial data accuracy.
• Period Close: Oversee month-end close (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations); maintain GL integrity; approve reconciliations and submissions.
• Compensation & Benefits: Ensure payroll and benefits accounting compliance; collaborate with HR; analyze trends for planning.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare/review financial statements; identify compliance risks; ensure timely reporting.
• Reporting & Analytics: Design reporting systems; review ad-hoc analyses; develop performance tools; support incentive plans.
• Accounting Advisory: SME for complex accounting issues, new standards, and strategic initiatives.
• Cost Management & Planning: Apply advanced costing methods; analyze variances; lead cost-reduction initiatives.
• Process, Controls & Systems: Maintain ERP expertise; recommend system enhancements; oversee cost center setup.
• Collaboration, Projects & Stakeholders: Manage project components; monitor progress; resolve obstacles.
