Intogreat Solutions emphasizes a balanced approach across people, process, and technology, using proven project methodologies to drive sustainable business growth. Role Purpose

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a growing finance team supporting Australian operations. This is a hands‑on accounting and reporting role with ownership across period close, management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, technical accounting, audit preparation, and multi‑entity reporting. You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller and Australian stakeholders while helping strengthen reporting processes, controls, and automation.

Key Responsibilities
Financial accounting and close
  • Revenue accruals and cut‑off across all verticals and sites, and cost accruals covering contractor, linehaul, labour hire, warehouse and home delivery.
  • Payroll journals including leave, long service leave, superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax.
  • Inventory, depreciation, prepayment and intercompany journals, and bank reconciliations across group entities.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations across approximately 25 reconciliation areas each period, with evidence retained.
  • Consolidation, elimination journals and group reporting across five entities.
  • Operational ownership of the close: the timetable, the checklist, completion tracking and escalation of anything at risk.
Management accounting and reporting
  • Weekly group profit and loss, variance analysis and written commentary.
  • Margin analysis by vertical, and profitability reporting by site, state and customer.
  • Cash flow reporting and reconciliation, and working capital reporting.
  • Aged debtor and creditor reporting with bucket and movement analysis.
  • Period reporting pack including the profit and loss, statement of financial position, cash flow and variance analysis.
  • Support the forecast and budget prepared by the Financial Controller.
Technical accounting
  • Revenue recognition under AASB 15, including cut‑off testing, unbilled and accrued revenue, principal versus agent assessment and variable consideration.
  • Leases under AASB 16: the lease register, right of use assets and liabilities, discount rates, period journals, modifications and remeasurements.
  • Employee benefits under AASB 119, including leave on‑costs and long service leave on a probability weighted basis.
  • Expected credit losses under AASB 9, including the provision matrix and the period doubtful debt assessment.
  • Income tax and tax effect accounting under AASB 112, including the current tax provision, temporary differences and the deferred tax schedules.
  • A year to date statement of taxable income each period, converted to tax payable and compared with PAYG instalments, so the tax position is known during the year.
  • Provisions and contingent liabilities under AASB 137, including customer and damage claims.
  • Fixed assets and impairment under AASB 116, AASB 136 and AASB 138, including software capitalisation and amortisation.
  • Technical accounting position papers on material judgements, and assessment of new and amended standards.
Tax, compliance and audit
  • BAS and IAS preparation and reconciliation, including GST and fuel tax credits.
  • Tax workpapers supporting the company tax return, FBT schedules and TPAR preparation.
  • Payroll tax reconciliations across states, and review of STP finalisation and WorkCover declarations prepared by the payroll team.
  • Audit ready workpapers maintained continuously, lead schedules and prepared by client schedules, and support through external audit fieldwork.
  • Climate related financial disclosure support under AASB S2, including emissions data collection and assurance support.
  • The Financial Controller retains ownership of lodgement and of all regulator facing submissions; this role prepares and supports them.
Process, controls and improvement

The role sits in the second line of defence. Transaction processing is performed by the Finance Officers, and approval and payment authority is retained by the Financial Controller.

  • It does not raise customer invoices, prepare recipient created tax invoices, process supplier invoices or enter contractor pays.
  • It has read only banking access, no payment release capability and no approval authority over anything it has prepared.
  • All journals and reconciliations it prepares require documented Financial Controller review.
Candidate Profile
  • CPA or CA qualified, or an equivalent recognised professional accounting qualification.
  • Prior Big 4 external audit experience. This is essential rather than preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years Australian accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare audit ready workpapers and lead schedules.
  • Sound technical grounding in Australian Accounting Standards, in particular AASB 16, AASB 9, AASB 119, etc.
  • Experience preparing management accounts, variance analysis and profitability reporting.
  • Advanced Excel, including pivot tables and Power Query.
  • High standard of written and verbal English. The role presents commentary and reconciliation findings directly to Australian stakeholders.
  • Able to work Australian Eastern business hours, and comfortable in a weekly close and thirteen period calendar.
  • Fi ve or more years post qualification experience.
  • Multi-entity group consolidation experience.
  • Experience with a mid‑size ERP such as Business Central, NetSuite, Sage or Acumatica.
  • Transport, logistics, warehousing or high volume services exposure.
  • Experience documenting processes, controls and reporting templates.
  • Exposure to sustainability or climate related financial disclosure such as AASB S2.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tooling to accelerate review, reconciliation and reporting.
First Twelve Months
  • First 90 days: learn the reporting model, entity structure and chart of accounts; take ownership of weekly reporting production; complete a full close cycle end to end.
  • By 6 months: own all balance sheet reconciliations and recurring journals, the lease schedules and the expected credit loss model, and deliver audit ready files continuously.
  • By 12 months: independently prepare period reporting packs, prepare the annual audit workpaper pack, establish the accounting policy framework, and deliver measurable automation improvements.
