Bespoke Outsource Services is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage financial accounting and reporting across multiple entities with a strong Australian accounting background. You will lead month-end close, financial reporting, and statutory compliance while mentoring junior staff and supporting CFO-level partners.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Australian accounting or similar role.
• Strong experience with Australian accounting practices, month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Experience with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, WorkCover, and other Australian statutory requirements.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, Profit & Loss statements, financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and fixed asset registers.
• Manage project accounting and financial reporting requirements.
• Review financial results and assist with variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Oversee BAS, FBT, payroll tax, WorkCover, and related compliance requirements.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including reviewing transactions and reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll processes and ensure payroll entries are accurate.
• Support budgeting, cash flow management, forecasting, and monitoring of actuals vs budget.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing financial accounting and reporting functions across multiple business entities, including month-end close, management reporting, general ledger, reconciliations, statutory compliance, project accounting, and oversight of key finance processes.

The role requires strong Australian accounting experience, sound technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and support the continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly management accounts, Profit & Loss statements, financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and fixed asset registers.

• Manage project accounting and financial reporting requirements.

• Review financial results and assist with variance analysis and financial reporting.

• Manage and coordinate Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other applicable statutory reporting requirements.

• Manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), payroll tax, WorkCover, and related accounting and compliance requirements.

• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts for payable processes, including reviewing transactions, reconciliations, and outstanding balances.

• Oversee payroll processes, including reviewing payroll reports and ensuring payroll-related accounting entries are accurate.

• Support budgeting, cash flow management, forecasting, and monitoring of actual results against budget.

• Provide financial information and reporting to support management decision-making.

• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and Assistant Accountants as required.

• Provide support to the CFO and Group Financial Controller as required.

• Contribute to financial audits, finance projects, reporting requirements, and other business initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, automation, and internal controls.

• Support the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and financial processes.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors, external accountants, and other relevant parties as required.

• Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with applicable Australian accounting requirements.

• Provide general accounting, financial reporting, and operational support as required.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

• CA or CPA qualification is required.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Australian accounting, financial accounting, or a similar role.

• Strong experience with Australian accounting practices, month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

• Experience managing journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger activities.

• Experience with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, WorkCover, and other Australian statutory requirements.

• Experience with project accounting and financial reporting.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Hands-on experience with ERP and accounting systems.

• Strong experience using Xero.

• Experience working across multiple entities is highly regarded.

• HubSpot or similar CRM experience is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
