Job summary

Salmon is seeking a senior localization specialist to own the Filipino-language layer for our marketing, product, and support content. You will set quality standards, build glossaries, and decide localization approaches for Tagalog and Cebuano from day one.

You will lead the localization workflow, collaborate with Marketing and Product, and help scale a regional localization function as the product expands in the Philippines and beyond.

Qualifications

• Degree in linguistics, translation, journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience owning a localization workflow end-to-end.
• Proven experience in editing, translation, journalism, copywriting, or localization for commercial clients.
• Native or near-native fluency in English, Tagalog, and Cebuano.

Responsibilities

• Translate and localize marketing, website, product, and in-app copy into Tagalog and Cebuano from day one.
• Adapt content for cultural relevance and natural register across Philippine regions.
• Review Filipino content before publication and as backup reviewer for other authors.
• Partner with Marketing, Content, and Product to take briefs, manage priorities, and deliver on schedule.
