Job summary

ams OSRAM in Calamba City, Philippines, seeks a Senior Engineer for Test New Product Introduction. You will liaise with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing and test processes for new products and lead initiatives across devices from approval to release.

The ideal candidate holds an electronics/physics degree and has 8+ years in the semiconductor industry, with deep expertise in optical sensor testing and ATE operations, plus strong skills in project planning and technical reporting.

Qualifications

• Graduates in Electronics and Communications Eng, Electrical Eng, Physics, or Mechanical Eng.
• Minimum 8 years’ semiconductor experience in Test and Backend.
• Advanced expertise in optical sensor device testing (electrical, optical, vision).
• Strong experience in test handling, wafer probe testing and ATE operations.
• Ability to interpret and create project plans aligned with technical goals.
• Skilled in preparing professional technical reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing and test processes for new products.
• Manage and lead large teams to resolve critical issues and back up the Test NPI Manager.
• Independently start up and manage new devices from project approval through closure.
• Support site transfer activities of released devices before release to target sites.
• Oversee pre-production builds, verify test processes, and drive issue resolution.
• Lead Process FMEAs and new process development with Process Engineering.
• Contribute to supplier selection criteria and cost/quality improvements.
• Prepare detailed test and backend reports for handover or RTP documents.

Your new responsibilities

• Liaise with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing and test processes for new products, ensuring cost, build, and performance targets are achieved.
• Manage and lead large teams to resolve critical issues, and provide backup support for the Test NPI Manager in key roles.
• Independently start up and manage new devices from project approval through closure, including test transfers from global.
• Support site transfer activities of released devices, ensuring all requirements are coordinated before release to target sites.
• Oversee pre-production builds, verify test processes, and drive resolution of issues before handover to production teams.
• Participate in Process FMEAs, lead new process development and qualification, and collaborate with Process Engineering to adapt or qualify processes for new devices.
• Contribute to supplier selection criteria, manage supplier interactions, review progress against milestones, and initiate improvement programs to ensure cost, quality, and reliability.
• Prepare detailed test and backend reports in handover or RTP documents to ensure smooth product release cycles.

Who we are looking for

• Graduate of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry, specifically handling Test and Backend functions.
• Advanced expertise in optical sensor devices testing, including electrical, optical, and vision testing.
• Strong experience in test handling, wafer probe testing, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) operations.
• Ability to interpret and create project plans, ensuring alignment with technical and operational goals.
• Skilled in preparing professional technical reports and documentation to support project execution and handover.
