Job summary

ReNew is seeking a Senior Engineer for Performance Monitoring, Data Analytics & Support to monitor solar plants via SCADA, analyze generation data, and track KPIs such as PR, CUF, and energy yield. You’ll work with O&M teams to resolve issues and drive reliability improvements.

The role emphasizes data-driven optimization, dashboard development, and reporting to management, supporting energy efficiency and loss reduction initiatives across multiple sites.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor the performance of solar power plants through SCADA and monitoring systems.
• Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly generation data.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as PR, CUF, plant availability, inverter efficiency, and energy yield.
• Conduct energy loss analysis and identify generation gaps.
• Compare actual generation against budgeted and expected energy forecasts.
• Coordinate with site O&M teams for issue resolution and performance improvement.
• Monitor inverter, transformer, string, weather station, and communication system performance.
• Support reliability improvement initiatives and root cause analysis of recurring failures.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports.
• Develop dashboards and MIS reports for management review.
• Present performance trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain plant performance records and technical documentation.
• Conduct performance benchmarking across multiple solar plants.
• Analyze weather data, irradiation trends, and their impact on generation.
• Support predictive analysis and preventive maintenance planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency and reduce losses.
• Coordinate with Asset Management, Engineering, and O&M teams.
• Support customer and management performance review meetings.
• Ensure compliance with contractual performance guarantees and SLAs.

Role Responsibilities

Performance Monitoring & Analysis

• Monitor the performance of solar power plants through SCADA and monitoring systems.
• Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly generation data.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as PR, CUF, plant availability, inverter efficiency, and energy yield.
• Conduct energy loss analysis and identify generation gaps.

Operational Excellence

• Identify underperforming equipment and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with site O&M teams for issue resolution and performance improvement.
• Monitor inverter, transformer, string, weather station, and communication system performance.
• Support reliability improvement initiatives and root cause analysis of recurring failures.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports.
• Develop dashboards and MIS reports for management review.
• Present performance trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
