Job summary

WSP in Manila is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead high‑voltage and medium‑voltage network design across transmission and infrastructure projects. You will develop concepts for EHV/HV/MV systems, define topology, and produce diagrams, reports and datasheets for client-facing proposals.

The role requires 7+ years in power systems design, hands-on experience with AIS and GIS substations, and strong English communication to coordinate with teams across countries and time zones.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 7+ years in HV/MV design and delivery of power systems.
• Experience with AIS or GIS substations and associated equipment.
• Strong written and spoken English for cross-country collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Comply with SHEQ, quality, governance, ethics and risk obligations.
• Collaborate with Manila and international Power & Energy teams and clients.
• Develop electrical network concepts for EHV, HV and MV systems.
• Define supply philosophy, topology, voltage levels and redundancy for facilities.
• Prepare single‑line diagrams, layouts, schematics, and specifications.
• Coordinate load assessments, fault analyses, andCable routing calculations.
• Design EHV/HV/MV substations, including AIS and GIS solutions.
• Develop underground HV/MV cable systems, routing and terminations.
• Develop earthing and lightning protection design inputs.
• Coordinate interfaces with protection, control, SCADA, telecoms, civil and others.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and client engagement.
• Mentor junior engineers and share lessons learned.
