Job summary

Morningstar DBRS is seeking an experienced editor to proofread, fact-check, and polish complex financial reports for investor clients. Based in Mumbai, India, the role focuses on structured finance analyses, presale and monthly reports, and client communications.

The editor ensures standards, clarity, and accuracy across all content. Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s in English/journalism/communications and at least four years in a credit-rating or financial publication.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or a related field.
Minimum of four years as a writer or editor with a credit-ratings agency or financial publication.
Proven writing skills with compelling lede, concise conclusions, strong headlines.
Ability to significantly rewrite copy for logical flow and clarity.
Strong proofreading/editing skills demonstrated by tests.
Basic math skills including_percentages calculations.
Familiarity with AP style; willing to adopt Morningstar DBRS style.
Ability to manage multiple editing projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

Proofread and edit articles and monthly reports for accuracy, sentence structure, organization, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Proofread, fact check, and edit presale reports for securitizations.
Ensure all reports adhere to Morningstar DBRS style standards.
Collaborate to deliver high-quality content that supports investor decision-making.
Assist in editing marketing and compliance materials and client communications.
