Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California is required.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience conducting roadway and highway construction inspection in major public works projects.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with physical characteristics and properties of roadway and bridge construction materials including concrete and steel.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff, pursue new work opportunities, and contribute to business development.
• Write proposals, conduct interviews, and prepare cost proposals.
• Provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects.
• Determine if completed work follows the plans and specifications.
• Coordinate work with contractors and public utilities agencies.
• Maintain records and reports related to the project.
• Coordinate with general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans and specifications on all phases of structural construction.
• Make or support grade, alignment, quantity, falsework, and shoring calculations.
• Assist in preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, and progress pay estimates; coordinate sampling and testing of construction materials.
