Job summary

My Digital Nomads is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with Kubernetes, AWS and Docker expertise and Level 1 SysAdmin experience for a fully remote freelance role. You will automate deployment, ensure reliability, monitor performance, and collaborate with our global team.

Responsibilities include on-call support approximately one week per month, implementing security best practices, and continuous process improvements while communicating in English with diverse teams. London-friendly hours apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud services (DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Good knowledge of Linux OS.
• Scripting skills (Bash/Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.).
• CI/CD and automation with Jenkins, GitLab, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and security practices.
• Familiarity with Grafana for monitoring.
• Level 1 Systems Administration experience and on-call exposure.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Strong English communication and global teamwork.
• Commitment to ongoing learning in DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Automate and improve development and release processes.
• Monitor and maintain system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with global teams including developers, QA, and IT operations.
• Implement security best practices and ensure industry compliance.
• Analyse technology use and develop improvement processes.
• Provide Level 1 Systems Administration support as part of a paid on-call rotation, approx. one week per month.
