Job summary

CoDev Philippines is recruiting a Sr. DevOps Engineer for a fully remote role with PH night shift (9 PM–6 AM). You will own CI/CD automation, security automation, and observable cloud infrastructure, collaborating with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Operations, and Product teams on a scalable e-commerce platform.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in DevOps/security with deep AWS expertise, Kubernetes, Terraform, and IaC, plus strong logging/monitoring capabilities and a focus on secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Info Security or related field.
• 3+ years of DevOps, infrastructure, and security experience.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (VPCs, IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.) and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Hands-on with at least one other cloud platform (Azure or GCP).
• Proficiency with CI/CD automation tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CodePipeline).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Elastic-based logging, monitoring, and alerting.

Job description

This is a fully remote role with a PH night shift schedule (9 PM-6 AM) and work equipment will be provided.

We're seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer who is passionate about CI/CD automation, security automation, security best practices, zero-downtime deployment, and observable cloud infrastructure. You will interact with stakeholders across Engineering, QA, DevOps, Operations, and Product Management. EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Security, Information Systems, or related field
• 3+ years of related DevOps, infrastructure, and security experience
• Deep knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including networking (VPCs, subnets, Security Groups, NACLs, PrivateLink/VPC endpoints), security (IAM, IAM Identity Center, KMS, Secrets Manager, GuardDuty, Security Hub), Kubernetes (EKS), managed databases (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB), and monitoring/observability (CloudWatch, CloudWatch Logs Insights, X-Ray, CloudTrail)
• Hands-on experience with at least one additional cloud platform (Azure or GCP) strongly preferred
• Expert in Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform (and similar technologies)
• Experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash/Beats/Elastic Agent), including cluster deployment, scaling, tuning, and using Elastic for logging, monitoring, and observability
• Experience with REST-style web services and APIs
• Experience with API security and best practices
• Experience with mobile device and application security
• Experience designing networks and subnets (VNets/VPCs) for security, monitoring, and prevention
• Experience with CI/CD automation tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CICD, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or Azure DevOps.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer - Associate, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Terraform, or Elastic
• Understanding of compliance programs such as SOC 2 and PCI DSS
• Experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning, including query and index analysis and index creation
• Experience tuning Kubernetes pod resource requests and limits based on observed metrics

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement resilient, scalable, and observable processes and infrastructure used across client implementations of the software
• Secure networks, applications, and data
• Provide production monitoring and support for client systems
• Design, deploy, and maintain Elastic-based logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions
• Design and implement automation tools for testing, monitoring, and reporting
• Design and implement integrations within CI/CD pipelines
• Build security controls into Engineering and DevOps pipelines (e.g., build automation and configuration management)
• Participate in code and design reviews
• Understand and advocate for the OWASP Top 10, industry best practices, and secure coding principles
• Work with clients on infrastructure and scaling requirements
• Review and assess client deployments for potential security, scaling, and reliability issues
• Routinely conduct, review, and resolve findings from penetration and vulnerability assessments
• Review the security posture of new product integrations
• Assist with company compliance objectives
