Job summary

SMEC (An SJ Group Company) in Metro Manila seeks a senior structural/geotechnical engineer to lead design and reviews for major infrastructure and coastal projects. You will guide teams, coordinate with construction management, and ensure designs meet international and local standards across concrete and steel works.

The role requires 5+ years in civil engineering, strong communication in English, and experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Plaxis.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering from a recognised university.
Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience in large-scale infrastructure or reclamation projects.
Ability to manage and coordinate all design activities and teams.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Experience in contract administration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead structural/geotechnical design and design review for projects, with internal QC endorsement.
Coordinate with design/construction teams to support progress and delivery.
Manage a team of design engineers and provide guidance on design management.
Prepare and approve design-related letters and coordinate with construction/admin teams.
Provide structural/geotechnical services for marine facilities including soil testing and soil improvement works.
Review and approve reports, design specifications for tenders, and coastal structures.
