Job summary

optiBPO in Clark, Pampanga, Philippines is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to create high-quality 2D/3D drawings and furniture layouts for customer spaces. You will support global Sales, NPD and Engineering with designs that are manufacturable and meet customer requirements.

The role involves developing detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and CAD files while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Design Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as Design/Furniture Design Engineer in manufacturing.
• Strong ability to create detailed technical and manufacturing drawings.
• Advanced CAD experience with SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate customer and quotation drawings for cabinetry and furniture.
• Create detailed 3D furniture models using CAD tools.
• Generate manufacturing drawings with specs, dimensions, tolerances.
• Maintain Bills of Materials for standard and bespoke products.
• Produce CAD files including BIM, CET as required.
• Quality-check drawings and documentation for accuracy.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and internal teams to resolve queries.
• Work with Sales to develop customer-specific furniture solutions.
• Support NPD with design modifications and production docs.

Job Summary

The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for creating high-quality, accurate technical drawings and 3D models to illustrate furniture layouts and designs within customer spaces. The role will support the global Sales, NPD and Engineering teams by developing designs for both standard and bespoke furniture solutions. Furthermore, they will ensure that designs are technically accurate, manufacturable and meet customer requirements. The role will also support the Head of Sustaining Engineering with product development, continuous improvement and other engineering projects. As the business systems footprint expands beyond NetSuite, the role is expected to evolve with it. Over time, the role will adopt new platforms and technologies. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys both the technical depth of platform engineering and the collaborative, cross-functional side of working closely with the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate customer and quotation drawings for cabinetry and furniture to support accurate costing and customer proposals.
• Produce detailed, accurate, and scaled 3D models of furniture using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, including specifications, dimensions, tolerances, s and other information required for production.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for standard and bespoke products.
• Generate CAD files and customer-specific formats, including BIM, CET and AutoCAD, as required.
• Quality-check drawings, models, and associated technical documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical queries and ensure products can be manufactured effectively.
• Work closely with the global Sales team to develop customer-specific furniture solutions and respond to technical design requirements.
• Support NPD with product improvement drawings, design modifications and manufacturing documentation.
• Support the Head of Sustaining Engineering with product development, continuous improvement, t and engineering projects.
• Identify potential design or manufacturing issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Ensure drawings and technical information are maintained accurately and in accordance with company processes.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously. In addition, you will prioritise work according to customer and business requirements.

Requirements

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial/Product Design, Furniture Design or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in a Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer or Furniture Design Engineer role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience producing detailed technical and manufacturing drawings, 3D models and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Advanced experience with CAD packages – SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor are essential. Experience with Configura, CET, B, IM and Monday.com would be advantageous.
• Excellent IT skills with competent use of Microsoft Office (mainly Outlook and Excel).
• An excellent understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent technical and engineering experience.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing and prioritising multiple projects simultaneously.
• High attention to detail.
• Confident, proactive, approachable, and happy to turn your hand to anything required.
• Self-motivated and organised with excellent attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
