Job summary

Serko, a cutting-edge tech platform in business travel and expense technology, is expanding its Bengaluru hub. As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be a high-performing individual contributor working with engineering and product leadership on discovery and delivery of data-intensive solutions.

You will mentor data engineers, design scalable data models, champion data practices, and lead proof-of-concept projects while partnering with Platform, Security, and Architecture teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java, Kotlin or .NET in production systems.
• Solid knowledge of software architecture and scalable design.
• Experience mentoring data/engineer teams and guiding design decisions.
• Familiarity with agile development and CI/CD practices.
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to address data needs.
• Support data architecture and design across data platforms.
• Design scalable data models with performance and security in mind.
• Mentor data engineers and junior staff.
