Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in MS Azure, including Databricks and ADLS Gen2. You will shape data architecture and collaborate with data scientists and analysts to meet analytics needs.

You will join a hybrid team with 3 onsite days weekly and occasional night shifts to align with business requirements. Strong skills in Java/Scala, Python, and SQL are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Data Engineer.
• 5+ years building data pipelines in MS Azure using Azure Databricks.
• Experience automating data pipelines and familiarity with DevOps and CICD.
• Good knowledge of MS Azure services and data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other services.
• Develop and maintain data architecture including data models, schemas, and data dictionaries.
• Integrate data from various sources and ensure data quality for analytics and operations.
• Follow data governance policies to ensure security, privacy, and compliance.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to meet data needs.
• Stay updated with big data and cloud tech to improve data infra.
