Job summary

Manulife in the Philippines is seeking a Data Engineer who will design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines and data platforms in Azure. You will collaborate with data engineers, architects, and governance to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data warehouse.

The role emphasizes data quality, governance, and automation, with hybrid work (3 days onsite per week) and night shift options to align with global teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as Data Engineer or similar role.
• Experience building and operationalizing in MS Azure, especially Databricks.
• Automating data pipelines and familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD.
• Knowledge of MS Azure services (SQL Queries, ADLS Gen2, ADF, Databricks, Synapse, SQL Server).
• Understanding relational data modeling and data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines using Azure and related services.
• Develop and maintain data architecture, including models, schemas, and dictionaries.
• Integrate data from diverse sources and ensure data quality and consistency for analytics and operations.
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance per governance policies.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to meet data needs.
