Job summary

ERNI in Metro Manila is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-native data pipelines on Azure. You will lead end-to-end data warehousing, modeling, governance, and production support for enterprise-scale datasets across multiple business domains.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, optimize performance, and mentor teams in Databricks, Spark, SQL, and data quality practices. Hybrid work setup available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Hands-on design and delivery of enterprise-scale data pipelines, data platforms, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics-ready datasets.
• Senior-level experience with Azure and Azure Databricks required.
• Strong experience with Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and SQL.
• Experience with cloud-native data engineering patterns and production support.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, and security in cloud environments.
• Ability to clarify requirements with stakeholders and translate into technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, data models, and curated data layers.
• Build scalable ingestion, transformation, validation, and publishing processes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, data definitions, and acceptance criteria.
• Translate requirements into source-to-target mappings, models, and delivery plans.
• Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Optimize Databricks jobs, Spark workloads, SQL queries, and Delta tables.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, security, and compliance across pipelines.
• Work with data architects and analysts to ensure reliable, governable data assets.
