Our client is a regulatory-compliance technology and consulting firm that provides solutions and services to government and tribal gaming regulators.

We are looking for an experienced and highly analytical Senior Data Scientist to join the Market Intelligence team. This position is suited for someone who enjoys working with complex datasets, investigating challenging data problems, and transforming information into reliable insights that support business and client decisions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and improving existing data processes, validating analytical outputs, producing market intelligence, and identifying opportunities to make data workflows more accurate and efficient. The role also involves the practical use of AI tools to support research and analysis while maintaining strong standards for data quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze large and multi-source datasets to identify trends, patterns, inconsistencies, and meaningful insights
• Perform exploratory, descriptive, and quantitative analysis based on business and client requirements
• Prepare recurring reports, ad hoc analyses, market intelligence outputs, and other analytical deliverables
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear and actionable insights for stakeholders
• Investigate unexpected results and determine the underlying causes of data discrepancies

Data Operations & Process Improvement

• Maintain and enhance existing data workflows, analytical models, dashboards, and reporting processes
• Review and improve data preparation, classification, categorization, and adjustment methodologies
• Identify weaknesses or inefficiencies within existing data processes and recommend practical improvements
• Work with team members to resolve structural, logical, or quality-related issues within datasets
• Look for opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and better analytical processes

Data Quality & Governance

• Take ownership of the accuracy and reliability of assigned datasets, metrics, and analytical outputs
• Perform validation and quality checks before analytical results are used in reports or client deliverables
• Identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data integrity issues and investigate their root causes
• Establish and maintain clear documentation of methodologies, assumptions, data treatments, and analytical processes
• Ensure analytical outputs are consistent, transparent, and reproducible
• Conduct data-driven research to support market intelligence initiatives
• Analyze information from multiple sources to develop insights into relevant market trends and developments
• Support the creation of intelligence reports and analytical materials for internal and external stakeholders
• Identify emerging trends, patterns, and opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Assist in research projects that require combining data analysis with broader market information

AI & Technology

• Use AI-powered tools to support data analysis, research, reporting, and other day-to-day analytical activities
• Evaluate AI-generated information critically and independently validate results before use
• Identify practical opportunities to incorporate AI and automation into existing workflows
• Keep up to date with developments in data science, analytics, AI, and related technologies

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

• Partner with internal teams and stakeholders on data-driven projects and analytical initiatives
• Clarify business questions and determine appropriate analytical approaches
• Communicate findings, assumptions, limitations, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Provide analytical support for both planned initiatives and urgent or ad hoc business requirements
• Take ownership of assigned deliverables and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or in a closely related analytical role
