Job summary

Elsevier's Global Business Intelligence team seeks a Senior Data Analyst to turn data into actionable insights for sales leadership and senior management. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, build dashboards in Excel, Tableau, and Power BI, and contribute to the Nexus data warehouse.

You will lead data modeling standards, leverage AI tools responsibly, and partner across Finance, Operations, Sales, Content, and IT to keep data reliable and current.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a business intelligence or data analyst role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with a data warehouse (Snowflake preferred).
• Experience building reports and dashboards in Tableau or Power BI.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn enterprise AI tools.
• Bachelor's degree and ability to translate stakeholder questions into analysis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to understand business processes and challenges.
• Design and build dashboards and visualizations in Excel, Salesforce, and Tableau.
• Design, build, and maintain Nexus data warehouse; support Snowflake migration.
• Lead ambiguous requests, scope work, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Set standards for data modeling, code reviews, and consistency across dashboards.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development, analysis, and documentation responsibly.
• Review reporting portfolio, perform ad hoc analyses, and train users for adoption.
• Collaborate across Finance, Operations, Sales, Content, and IT to keep data current.
• Share best practices within the Elsevier Data & Analytics community.
