Job summary

AMCS is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen the security of our enterprise environment. The role involves hands-on implementation across cloud, identity, endpoint, network, and business applications, with leadership during incidents and collaboration with IT, risk, and business teams.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in cyber security, strong Azure knowledge, and experience with SIEM/EDR.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years of experience in cyber security engineering, security operations, infrastructure security, or closely related discipline.
• Experience implementing and operating enterprise security technologies in complex or distributed environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, preferably Microsoft Azure, including identity, logging, workload protection, and configuration management.
• Experience with Enterprise level EDR/MDR solutions
• Understanding of networking, Windows and Linux security, authentication protocols, APIs, scripting, and modern app architectures.
• Experience with incident response, threat analysis, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK.
• Ability to communicate technical risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud, identity, endpoint, network, email, and SaaS environments.
• Lead technical investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews for security events.
• Engineer and optimise security platforms (SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, identity security, secure email, cloud-native tooling).
• Develop detection rules, automation, playbooks, dashboards, and security metrics.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and work with owners to remediate findings.
• Review designs for security risks and recommend practical controls.
• Support IAM, PAM, Zero Trust, and least-privilege initiatives.
• Contribute to security architecture, standards, docs, and control assurance.
• Collaborate with third parties and internal teams to assess risks and validate remediation.
• Mentor engineers and analysts on secure engineering practices.
• Participate in on-call or incident escalation when required.
