Job summary

HYRED, a fast-growing fintech, is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to evaluate SME borrowers and strengthen credit processes as the business scales.

You will independently assess loan applications, analyze SME and bank statements, identify risks, and provide clear credit recommendations to credit and BD teams in a dynamic fintech environment.

The role emphasizes genuine underwriting and credit judgment, with opportunities to improve frameworks and automate analysis as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis or underwriting.
• Experience analysing SME financial statements and bank statements.
• Ability to independently assess borrowers and make clear credit recommendations.
• Strong risk judgment and investigative mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Excel/Sheets; SQL or Python a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-changing fintech environment.

What you'll do

• Evaluate SME borrowers and assess loan applications independently
• Analyse financial statements and bank statements to understand cash flow, repayment capacity and financial risks
• Identify inconsistencies, concentration risks and early warning signs
• Prepare clear and concise credit assessments and recommendations
• Monitor existing borrowers and identify emerging portfolio risks
• Work closely with Credit and BD teams and challenge assumptions when the numbers don't add up
• Help improve credit frameworks and processes
• Look for opportunities to automate repetitive analysis and reporting

What we're looking for

• 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, loan assessment or a similar role
• Strong experience analysing SME financial statements and bank statements
• Able to independently assess a borrower and make a clear credit recommendation
• Strong risk judgment and investigative mindset
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills; SQL or Python is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment where processes are continuously improved
• Experience in fintech, SME lending, commercial banking, corporate finance or a similar environment is welcome

Important: This is not a credit operations or collections role. We are looking for someone with genuine underwriting and credit assessment experience who can exercise independent judgment.
