Job summary

Escape Velocity Entertainment Inc in the Philippines is seeking a Principal Combat Designer to create and enhance combat mechanics for immersive gameplay. You will collaborate closely with designers to craft sophisticated mechanics and lead development across disciplines.

The ideal candidate has experience with at least two shipped AAA titles and proficiency in Unreal Engine. The role comes with generous benefits, including a health & wellbeing allowance and studio closure holidays.

Qualifications

• At least two shipped AAA titles in mechanics design capacity.
• Expertise with off-the-shelf design tools.
• Deep understanding of major mechanics and gameplay features in contemporary titles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design Director and other leads on combat design vision.
• Design and create expert-level player combat mechanics, weapons, and abilities.
• Communicate across disciplines to ensure alignment before feature development.
• Advocate for player experience in all design decisions.
