Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to maintain and improve production-level microservices applications running on Linux, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud environments. You will handle incident response, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements while collaborating with development and platform teams.

The role emphasizes on-call rotation, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and documenting operational procedures to ensure stable production services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience supporting production applications, distributed systems, or similar environments.
• Strong experience with Linux, Kubernetes or container platforms, AWS/cloud environments, and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, APIs, TLS/SSL, application connectivity, and service-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, metrics, observability tools, Git-based workflows, and scripting using Bash, Python, or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain microservices-based applications across Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
• Monitor application and service health and respond to production incidents, outages, and performance issues.
• Diagnose application and platform issues using logs, metrics, monitoring tools, and system diagnostics.
• Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to resolve application, service, and platform-related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and contribute to long-term reliability improvements.
• Maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive support and operational tasks.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule supporting a 24/7 production environment.
