Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to maintain production-grade, microservices-based applications across Linux, Kubernetes, and AWS/cloud environments. You will focus on supporting production, incident response, and system reliability while collaborating with development and platform teams.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, scripting, and on-call experience in a fast-paced 24/7 environment, with on-site work in Mandaluyong and Cebu.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 3+ years of experience supporting production applications, distributed systems, or similar environments.
• Strong experience with Linux, Kubernetes or container platforms, AWS/cloud environments, and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, APIs, TLS/SSL, application connectivity, and service-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, metrics, observability tools, Git-based workflows, and scripting using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with API gateways, messaging platforms, DevOps/SRE environments, or relevant AWS/Kubernetes certifications is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 production environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain microservices-based applications across Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
• Monitor application and service health and respond to incidents, outages, and performance issues.
• Diagnose application and platform issues using logs, metrics, monitoring tools, and system diagnostics.
• Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to resolve application, service, and platform-related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and contribute to long-term reliability improvements.
• Maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive support and operational tasks.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule supporting a 24/7 production environment.
