Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer II – Infrastructure Modernization Lead to join our growing team. This role is focused on leading infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives, combining deep on-premises expertise with advanced Azure and Microsoft 365 capabilities within enterprise-scale environments.
As a technical leader, you will spearhead datacenter transformation programs, cloud adoption strategies, hybrid architecture implementations, and infrastructure modernization efforts. You will play a critical role in shaping enterprise infrastructure roadmaps while collaborating with IT leadership, vendors, application teams, and stakeholders to drive scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including datacenter migrations, cloud transformation programs, workload migrations, and hardware refresh cycles.
- Design, implement, and optimize hybrid cloud architectures leveraging Azure IaaS, PaaS, and on-premises infrastructure environments.
- Own identity and access governance across Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Design and implement Conditional Access policies, RBAC models, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and security governance frameworks.
- Lead disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives utilizing Azure Site Recovery, Veeam, and enterprise-grade backup solutions.
- Drive infrastructure standardization, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and enterprise change initiatives.
- Develop architecture blueprints, migration strategies, infrastructure standards, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors, infrastructure teams, application teams, and leadership stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage risks, dependencies, and infrastructure roadmaps while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cloud adoption, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of enterprise systems engineering experience with a strong focus on cloud transformation and infrastructure modernization.
- Strong experience administering and governing Active Directory and Azure Active Directory environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, governance, and security best practices.
- Hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere and/or Hyper‑V virtualization platforms.
- Experience managing enterprise storage solutions and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience leading datacenter migration programs from planning through execution and post‑migration stabilization.
- Strong expertise with Veeam and enterprise backup and disaster recovery platforms.
- Excellent technical documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, migration plans, runbooks, and operational standards.
- Demonstrated leadership experience coordinating technical initiatives across cross‑functional teams.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing Azure Landing Zones and large‑scale Azure migration programs.
- Hands‑on experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates).
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Zero Trust security frameworks.
- Familiarity with Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and observability platforms.
- Experience working with ServiceNow or enterprise ITSM platforms.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent Microsoft certifications.
