Job summary

Financial Times is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to mature application and cloud security across its AWS-hosted tech estate. The role blends guardrail improvements, vulnerability management and hands-on engineering work with potential mentoring of fellow security engineers.

You’ll drive practical threat modelling, build secure automation and partner with product, platform and software engineering teams to embed security into delivery. AI security awareness is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience in application security and cloud security across AWS environments.
• Hands-on AWS security experience and remediation approaches.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling integration for security.
• Ability to mentor security engineers and influence engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve application security guardrails and tooling to be actionable and low-noise.
• Improve cloud IaC security guardrails and remediation at scale.
• Drive vulnerability management across engineering teams.
• Mentor or lead security engineers as needed.
• Partner with product and engineering to embed security into design and delivery.
