Job summary

Economist Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement and upgrade security measures across the organisation. You will protect systems, respond to breaches, test vulnerabilities, and communicate findings to executives while supporting a secure architecture.

Responsibilities include pen tests, risk assessments, incident coordination, and improving policies. Hybrid work pattern with 3+ days in the office is expected; AWS security certifications are a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Cyber Security, or related field with practical software experience.
• Proven experience in cybersecurity roles and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
• AWS Security focused certifications are a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cybersecurity measures across the organisation.
• Conduct pen tests and risk assessments to prioritise threats.
• Develop secure architectures and technical designs for remediation.
• Coordinate incident response and security control audits.
• Monitor logs and ensure SIEM capabilities receive data.
• Lead security engineering initiatives and act as a point of contact.
