Job summary

Bostik in Manila, Philippines is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to oversee local and imported procurement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, ensuring continuous supply and driving cost savings.

You will lead supplier management, importation, inventory planning, and strategic sourcing initiatives, coordinating with internal teams to meet production needs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, or any related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in procurement, importation, inventory control, planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, sourcing, and supplier management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools.
• Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with local and international suppliers and stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable in Philippine importation processes and customs regulations.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous supply and adequate stock cover of local and imported raw materials and packaging materials.
• Coordinate delivery schedules to support production and business requirements.
• Manage procurement activities for both trade and non-trade requirements.
• Monitor monthly raw material and packaging material price trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare cost estimates for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
• Partner with the Procurement Manager to implement cost reduction and sourcing strategies.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers while strengthening relationships with existing suppliers.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, and extended payment terms.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound requirements with intercompany counterparts for raw materials and finished goods.
• Source and evaluate competitive freight forwarders for Ex-Works, FOB, sea freight, and air freight transactions.
• Monitor import shipments and ensure timely delivery to support operational requirements.
• Coordinate with brokers, forwarders, banks, and customs authorities regarding importation activities.
• Ensure purchase orders are accurate in terms of specifications, pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders accurately and on time.
• Review shipping and importation documents before submission to Customs, brokers, banks, and forwarders.
• Review import duties and prepare related payments.
• Provide timely delivery updates to Sales, Marketing, Receiving, QA, Production, and other stakeholders.
• Process applications for tax credits, tax refunds, and customs license renewals when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with importation requirements and customs regulations.
• Handle sourcing and canvassing of urgent and strategic requirements for raw materials, packaging materials, and non-trade purchases.
• Coordinate with QA to verify material descriptions and specifications.
• Partner with regional teams to identify alternative suppliers for risk mitigation and cost optimization initiatives.
• Support supplier performance improvement and supply continuity programs.
