Job summary

Teamified is hiring a hands-on senior backend engineer based in Melbourne to ship production code in the first week and shape cleaner architecture with real test coverage. You will collaborate with the Head of Engineering and Product to drive safer deployments and AI-assisted workflows for our fintech platform.

You will own design and implementation of Django-based backend services powering our web portal and white-label environments, handling card issuing, spend controls, and real-time

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Django experience with Django ORM and DRF.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL data modelling and queries.
• Experience in building and deploying production Django apps.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security-conscious with authentication/authorization patterns (Auth0 or Okta).
• Ability to write design docs, ADRs and own features end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and own backend services powering web portal and mobile app.
• Handle payments core: card issuing, lifecycle, spend controls and webhooks.
• Improve features and integrate workflow enhancements across platform.
• Leverage AI tooling to ship AI-powered features.
• Lead technical design and write design docs and ADRs.
• Raise engineering bar with tests and SDLC/AI-DLC improvements.
• Maintain production quality: monitoring, incident response, on-call rotation.
