Job summary

Avvoka is hiring a Backend Developer to join our Manila team. You will build and maintain the backbone of our legal tech platform, designing scalable Rails features, ensuring code quality, and delivering high-impact solutions.

You’ll work closely with product, design and other engineers to ship robust systems, optimize performance, and mentor junior teammates in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments.
• Understanding of web application architecture, RESTful APIs, and database design.
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based deployments.
• Experience with performance optimization and scaling applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core platform features using Ruby on Rails.
• Improve performance and scalability across the stack.
• Mentor and support the engineering team through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
