Job summary

ENGIE Philippines is seeking a Senior Backend/Data Engineer to lead backend and data engineering on energy trading products. You will guide engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring secure and high-performance cloud applications.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in software engineering, strong Python skills, experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native patterns, and a solid grasp of CI/CD and security in DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Experience designing robust cloud-based web applications.
• Experience with serverless and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes and container tech (Docker).
• Experience using Generative AI to support software development is a plus.
• Strong unit and integration testing experience.
• Strong Python experience; AWS boto3, Django, Flask are advantages.
• Solid design of scalable, highly available cloud systems.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps automation and security.
