Job summary

BruntWork seeks a Senior AutoCAD Draftsperson (Australian Residential) to lead the drafting function, producing complete residential working drawings and ensuring NCC compliance. You will mentor juniors, review work, and own projects from start to finish, coordinating with engineers and clients across projects.

Responsibilities include overseeing junior draftspeople, maintaining drawing standards, and updating the plan library to reflect Australian regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years direct experience with an Australian construction/architectural firm.
• Hands-on NCC knowledge and Australian residential building compliance.
• Strong AutoCAD experience producing complete residential drawings.
• Experience supervising or checking junior draftspersons.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate residential working drawings using AutoCAD.
• Ensure plans comply with NCC and Australian standards.
• Review and QA drawings by junior draftspersons.
• Mentor and provide technical feedback to junior team members.
• Own drafting jobs from information to completed drawings.
• Complete markups and revisions within set turnaround times.
• Communicate with engineers, surveyors, clients, and stakeholders.
• Respond to RFIs as required.
• Identify compliance/buildability risks before site progression.
• Maintain and update the AutoCAD plan library.
• Keep drawings aligned with changes to Australian standards.
• Collaborate with the team during Australian business hours.
