Job summary

Boogertman + Partners Architects is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist in Waterfall for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The candidate will lead documentation for large-scale mixed-use and complex commercial buildings, coordinating council submissions and working drawings with multiple disciplines.

Ideal applicants have a Bachelor (Honours) in Architecture, SACAP registration, and advanced Revit skills with a strong track record in technical detailing and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor (Honours) in Architecture (or NQF 7/8)
• SACAP registration is required
• Advanced Revit proficiency and certification preferred
• Advanced knowledge of council documentation and submission processes
• Strong technical detailing and construction documents knowledge
• Excellent communication and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Documentation and construction of large-scale mixed-use and complex commercial buildings
• Produce sketch illustrations in Revit per Architect’s brief
• Coordinate council submission documentation (SDP and Building Plans)
• Produce and coordinate working drawings with other disciplines
• Attend site meetings and perform quality control inspections
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction on behalf of Architect
• Work effectively as part of a team

Key Responsibilities to include:

• Knowledge and experience in documentation and construction of large-scale mixed use and complex commercial buildings
• To produce sketch illustrations in Revit in line with the Architect’s brief for a variety of projects.
• To produce and co-ordinate council submission documentation, both SDP and Building Plans
• Produce working drawings, co-ordinated with other disciplines.
• Attend site meetings and quality control inspections.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction on behalf of Architect.

Minimum Criteria and Requirements of Applicants:

• Minimum Batchelors (Honors) or NQF 7 or 8 (Architecture) Qualification
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience (After Post grad)
• Registered with SACAP
• Advanced in use of Revit (certification of such preferable)
• Complete B+P Revit Assessment with minimum 80% scoreAdvanced knowledge and history of council documentation and submission process
• Advanced knowledge of technical detailing and construction documents
• Advanced knowledge of site administration and project management
• A high standard of communication skills and attention to detail required
• A commitment to providing excellent client service through efficiency and the quality in production of work
• Ability to work independently and in collaborative team environment
• Sufficiently experienced to resolve problems and to make decisions when required
• Plans and organises workflow and resources to ensure commitments and deadlines are met
