Job summary

DSV Global Transport and Logistics is seeking an experienced Application Packaging and VDI Specialist. The role focuses on packaging for Citrix CVAD and Endpoint Manager environments, with a strong emphasis on automation and cross‑functional collaboration across infrastructure, network, and platform teams.

You will optimize performance in multi‑user VDI, work with App-V, MSIX, and SCCM/Intune packaging, and develop robust documentation and governance for packaging standards and deployment

Qualifications

• Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) architecture and components.
• Solid understanding of application compatibility assessment and remediation in virtualized environments.
• Experience creating packaging for core/golden images using Task Sequences in MDT.
• Experience with multiple application delivery methods (App-V, installed apps in core images, portable/click‑once, web apps).
• Ability to optimize performance in VDI environments and improve user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain application packaging for VDI environments and laptops (SCCM/Endpoint Manager).
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network and platform teams to ensure smooth deployments.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate packaging and deployment tasks.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical and process documentation.
• Provide governance, reporting and continuous improvement for packaging and delivery processes.

Technical Core Requirements

Application Packaging for VDI (Citrix Windows Server 2019+ on prem and Azure Virtual Desktop)

• Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) architecture and components.
• Experience in application virtualization technologies, including Microsoft App‑V, MSIX is nice to have.
• Solid understanding of application compatibility assessment and remediation in virtualized and multi-user environments (e.g., Citrix, AVD, Windows 11 multi-session).
• Experience in creating application packaging for core/golden images (Task Sequences in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit).
• knowledge of Citrix policies, user profiles, and profile management (UPM and fxlogic nice to have)
• Experience with multiple application delivery methods:
  • App-V packages
  • Installed applications in core/golden images
  • Portable / click‑once app
  • Web applications (browser app run via URL)
• Ability to optimize application performance in VDI environments, including resource utilization and user experience improvements.
• experience with Citrix management tools:
  • Citrix Studio
  • Citrix Director
  • Citrix WEM (Workspace Environment Management)
• troubleshooting skills across packaging, deployment, and performance issues in multi-user environments.
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with infrastructure, network, and platform teams.
• Experience with scripting, PowerShell, to streamline packaging and deployment processes.
• Strong documentation skills covering processes, configurations, and troubleshooting.
• Continuous focus on best practices, innovation, and service improvement in VDI and application delivery.

Application packaging for laptops (Microsoft SCCM / Endpoint Manager)

• Strong understanding of SCCM architecture, including:
  • Distribution Points
  • Client agents
  • Application model
• Proven experience in application packaging and deployment via SCCM:
  • MSI
  • EXE wrappers
  • App-V
  • PowerShell‑based deployments
• Experience creating and managing:
  • Applications
  • Packages
  • Deployment types
  • Targeting collections (user and device)
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation and custom deployment logic.
• Familiarity with packaging standards, QA processes, UAT, and enterprise best practices.
• Understanding of change and release management processes in enterprise environments.

Documentation, Reporting & Governance

• Ability to create and maintain:
  • Application documentation
  • Technical documentation
  • Process and SOP documentation
• Experience preparing reports and status updates for stakeholders.
• Strong focus on process standardization and documentation quality.

Compliance

• Understanding in policies, security standards (apps vulnerabilities)
• Strong understanding of software compliance, licensing, and intellectual property protection.

• Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and modern VDI architectures.
• Experience with Windows 11 multi‑session environments.
• Understanding of user experience monitoring and performance analytics in VDI (e.g., log analysis, session performance).
