Job summary

Luxoft is hiring an Android Applications Developer (Contractor) to build and ship Android apps for automotive infotainment systems. You will contribute to end-to-end development for multi-brand OEM apps, integrating backend APIs and driving test automation.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of Android app development in Java and Kotlin.
• Solid fundamentals: OOP, multithreading, memory management.
• Production Android with coroutines/Flow, DI, background tasks, MVVM/MVI.
• Testing: unit (JUnit) and instrumentation; test doubles.
• AOSP/AAOS familiarity and in-vehicle constraints.
• Git workflows; PR reviews and collaboration.
• Clear decision making; autonomous and cross-team collaboration.
• Agile practices with SAFe, Confluence and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Android apps for automotive infotainment.
• End-to-end development for multi-brand OEM apps; backend API integration.
• Maintain production quality, performance, and car UX safety.
• Build AAOS apps using modern components for in-vehicle HMI.
• Contribute to clean architecture, MVVM/MVI, and robust background work.
• Implement data/network layers, caching, offline behavior.
• Use Git daily; PRs, code reviews, and clear feedback.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and basic test automation.
• Work with Android for Cars App Library templates.
• Document architecture ADRs, risks, and learnings.
• Own technical delivery across multiple APKs with high-quality standards.
