Job summary

Innodata Inc. seeks experienced bioinformatics/AI delivery professionals to join our Bioinformatics and Computational Biology portfolio. This hands-on role spans genomic data annotation, literature curation, and model evaluation, emphasizing scientific accuracy and practical data workflows.

You will own complex programs, lead technical delivery, and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and operations to translate requirements into reliable pipelines, models, and QA processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 2 years in AI/ML or data science.
• Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or CS/Engineering with substantial bioinformatics experience.
• Graduate degree strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of sequence and omics data, formats and ontologies, and literature curation.
• Practical experience using Python or R to work with biological data.
• Working knowledge of model training, LLM delivery, model evaluation, and MLOps.
• Strong scientific judgment and ability to distinguish technically plausible outputs from biologically accurate ones.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and serve as technical or client-facing lead for complex programs.
• Design and manage quality frameworks, scientific calibration, and workforce capability.
• Build, test, and evaluate models, data pipelines, and technical solutions.
• Translate scientific requirements into clear operational and technical workflows.
• Review annotation guidelines and identify gaps reflecting biological principles.
• Analyze quality and performance data to identify root causes and improvements.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and operations to resolve challenges.
• Ensure AI-generated outputs are scientifically correct.
