Job summary

Kake is a remote-first company and a people-first global community of senior engineers. We are seeking Senior AI/LLM Engineers with strong Python skills to design, build, and productionize LLM-powered applications at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks.
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) and frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Experience with RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized development environments.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar data stores.
• Strong ability to write tests and evaluation frameworks for AI/LLM outputs.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy LLM-powered features and applications using Python.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs (e.g., FastAPI) exposing AI/LLM capabilities.
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector search strategies.
• Design, test, and iterate prompts, agents, and orchestration flows using LangChain/LlamaIndex.
• Integrate with LLM providers and manage tradeoffs around cost, latency, and quality.
• Evaluate model outputs with tooling and metrics for accuracy, safety, and regressions.
• Work with containerized environments and data infrastructure to support production systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product needs into AI solutions.
